To our Malay friends in Malaysia, to all Muslims of South East Asia, and indeed to everyone around the world, we announce to you good news of great joy! The good news of true cleansing in Jesus Christ applies to YOU! We apologize for every Christian event in Malaysia which has carried the caption, "For Non-Muslims only" and for every Malay language Bible which has carried the stamp, "Not for Muslims". Those statements are simply not true. The good news of the Bible, the good news of Jesus Christ, is indeed FOR YOU!
First of all, what is "true cleansing"? Well, we all know that God is perfect. But man is imperfect, indeed we are sinful, evil, and impure. The holy, pure, righteous, perfect, Almighty God will not accept unclean, impure, defiled, sinful, imperfect creatures into His presence or into His Kingdom. Thus unclean man deserves only to be consumed in the Fire of the wrath of God.
We completely deserve to be destroyed in the Fire of God's wrath, unless... unless there were some way for us to become clean and pure in the eyes of God. Washing our bodies with water will certainly not make us pure enough to approach a holy God. Countless rituals or attempts at good deeds cannot scrub us clean once we are already defiled in the eyes of God. That's why, if there really were some true cleansing, to wash our souls and make us pure in the eyes of God, that would be really, really GOOD NEWS.
This is what the Bible says: "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city [of heaven]." (Revelation 22:14)
In what shall we wash our robes: "they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." (Revelation 7:15) "The Law [of Moses] says that almost everything must be made clean by blood, and sins cannot be forgiven without blood to show death." (Hebrews 9:22) Thus under the Law of Moses, many lambs must be killed, and their blood sprinkled, in order to make people or objects clean in God's sight. But Moses also pointed forward to a Final Lamb who could provide true and perfect cleansing once for all.
What, or who, is this Lamb: "The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29) Jesus is the Final Lamb who provides true cleansing for our souls.
How can we be washed pure and clean in the blood of Christ? The cleansing provided by the blood of Christ is simply received by faith (Romans 3:25). In other words, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."" (Romans 10:9-11)
Put your hope and your trust in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus, and His perfect blood will be applied to cleanse and purify your soul perfectly, so that you can stand before God and not be destroyed.
